Dr. Sung is a fellowship-trained and board-certified orthopedic surgeon who specializes in cervical and lumbar surgery, microsurgery, and minimally invasive surgery. He also performs complex spine reconstruction via minimally invasive techniques.

Dr. Sung also offers alternatives to fusion including artificial disc replacement for the lumbar and cervical spine, and spinal cord stimulation.

Dr. Sung’s expertise with minimally invasive techniques allows for quicker recovery and faster return to normal function.  Many of these complex surgeries can be done in the outpatient setting.

Dr. Sung has been in practice in Colorado Springs since 2000, joining The Spine Center at Colorado Springs Orthopaedic Group in 2007. Dr. Sung and his wife Kelly have three children who are very active in sports. Dr. Sung enjoys skiing and golf.

Growing up in Minnesota, Olivia was a gymnast for many years and always had a passion for fitness, movement, and the great outdoors. Working in orthopedic surgery allows her to help patients maintain their quality of life and get back to enjoying their active hobbies. Her goal with her patients is to ensure they feel like a priority every time they are in her care. Upon finishing PA school at Midwestern University in Downers Grove, Illinois, she fulfilled her dream of moving out of the Midwest to Colorado where she could enjoy her many interests outside of work. In her free time, she enjoys traveling the world, skiing, camping, and hiking with her dog.

More about Samantha

Samantha was raised in Colorado Springs, Colorado. She graduated from the University of Colorado with her Bachelor of Science degree and worked at Penrose Hospital before relocating to Chicago, Illinois to attend PA school. After completing her Master of Medical Science degree at Midwestern University, she began working in orthopedic surgery with one of the area’s busiest joint replacement surgeons.

Several years later, Samantha decided to return home to Colorado Springs with her husband. She joined Colorado Springs Orthopaedic Group in 2022 as a physician assistant in our Express Care Clinic. Samantha says she loves being able to provide compassionate care and make a positive impact on patient health.

In her spare time, Samantha enjoys hiking with her dog, spending time with her friends and family, cooking, and traveling with her husband.
