Growing up on a small Kansas dairy farm, strong values and a solid work ethic has been the foundation of his success. This belief has carried into his career as an orthopaedic surgeon. His philosophy is to exhaust all conservative treatment before discussing surgery, noting that surgery may still be the best or only option. "I like to treat my patients how I would want another physician to treat my family, with the utmost care, and concern."

Bob has 27 years of experience as a physician assistant, the last 20 of which have been in orthopaedics. He has also worked in family practice and emergency room settings. He received all of his medical training in the military and retired from the Air Force after 20 years of service. His clinical skills include, among other things, evaluating and treating patients in a clinical setting, accomplishing admission history and physicals, dictating discharge summaries, first-assistant responsibilities in a wide variety of orthopaedic procedures, casting and direct participation in pre and post-operative care.
